General structural engineers design new buildings. We spend our days understanding existing ones, assessing how they behave, why they move and what they can realistically achieve. That work spans heritage buildings, ageing commercial assets, apartment developments, adaptive reuse projects and structures with incomplete records or uncertain histories.
Sydney’s building stock is unusually layered — colonial sandstone beside Federation brickwork, mid-century concrete frames and 1990s apartments, often on the same street. Each era carries its own materials and failure modes, and that is precisely the work we do.

Heritage, commercial and civic buildings
Sandstone civic buildings, Victorian and Edwardian commercial stock and mid-century towers sit side by side in the CBD. We assess façades, floors and transfer structures for refurbishment, change of use and added load, and investigate cracking, corrosion and movement in older fabric.
